Ooooohhh....Aaaaaahhhh...

We just got back from watching the fireworks show at the local casino. They really went all out with about 30 minutes of steady booms and bangs followed by a 60 second stream of non-stop popping and crackling. The grand finale was so grand that it nearly blocked itself from sight with all the smoke. The best part was that we were in a secret spot that only a few families knew about. It was a couple miles from the casino, but there is absolutely nothing to block the view, so you get all the enjoyment with none of the traffic and chaos. My only complaint is that it was quite windy. We had our jackets, but we should have brought a blanket. Tomorrow there is another fireworks display as well as a get-together sponsered and hosted by the local peace group, PeaceWorks. We don't know anyone who is going, but we figure it would be a good place to start looking for likeminded individuals. Temecula is also having a parade through Old Town and a Family Fun Festival at one of the local parks. Should be a fun-filled day!
